DGP provides an update on the preparation of the I-Day Parade at APC Zewan

Srinagar City Tours, Presidents Officers Meeting

Srinagar: J&K Police Director General Dilbag Singh today visited APC Zewan to take stock of preparations for the Independence Day Parade, and visited various locations in Srinagar District to review the field security and deployment of personnel in the capital.

He also chaired the RCP officers meeting in the afternoon.

“In the morning, DGP J&K accompanied by DIG Central Kashmir Range Amit Kumar provided an update on the preparation of the Independence Day parade at the Zewan armed police complex. He inspected the full rehearsal of the parade in which contingents from BSF, CRPF, ITBP, JKAP, IRP, J&K Ladies Police, District Police Srinagar, Fire & Emergency Services, UTDRF and Forest Protection Force participate in the air of the band’s contingents BSF, CRPF and J&K Police, ”said a police spokesperson.

“The DGP, while interacting with the parade contingent commanders, the nodal officers from the JKAP / IRP battalions and other forces ordered that the Independence Day parade be attractive. He called on all parade participants and other support staff to prepare for the event with all the energy and enthusiasm, ”the spokesperson said.

“He ordered officers that during parade preparations and rehearsals there should be no compromise on COVID-19 protocols. He stressed to the officers that all necessary measures should be taken to follow the health advice issued from time to time by the authorities, ”he said.

The spokesperson added: “CO JKAP 9th Bn Manzoor Ahmad Dalal, CO JKAP 12th Bn. Sanjay Singh Rana, Dy.CO JKAP 12th Bn Fayaz Ahmad and other police officers and other security forces were present during the visit.

“The DGP also toured the area near the parade ground and asked officers to prepare plans for the renovation of family quarters and campus infrastructure. He asked the officers to take a close interest in the organization of fitness and sports programs to improve the fitness levels of officers and staff, ”he said.

“Later, DGP J&K accompanied by DIG CKR Amit Kumar and SSP Srinagar Sandeep Choudhary visited different places in Srinagar city. During the tour, he visited the regions of Nowgam, Sanat Nagar, Batamaloo, Bemina, Qamarwari and Khanayar. The tour aimed to take stock of security measures on the ground and the deployment of forces in the capital, ”the spokesperson said.

“In the afternoon, DGP J&K chaired a meeting of senior police, CRPF and BSF officers to review the overall security scenario for the valley. The meeting was attended by Spl. DG CID, J&K RR Swain, Spl. DG CRPF J&K Sanjay Arora, IGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar, IG BSF Kashmir Rajesh Mishra, IG CRPF (Ops) Kashmir Charu Sinha, DIG CKR Amit Kumar, SSP Srinagar Sandeep Choudhary and other officers, ”he said.

“During the meeting, the DGP insisted on the need for the officers to be vigilant and cautious, as the anti-national elements are determined to disrupt the peaceful environment. Senior officers informed DGP, J&K of the security scenario in their respective jurisdiction, ”he added.
