One-pass seedbed preparation, seeding

Amazone has combined its Precea precision air seeder and CombiDisc 3000 compact disc harrow to provide one-pass seedbed preparation and seeding at operating speeds of up to 15 km/h.

Steve Gorman, CLAAS Harvest Center Product Manager for Amazon, explains that the mounted suit is ideal for use in light to medium ground structures.

“The CombiDisc enables passive tillage while the Precea’s high-pressure separator enables precise seed placement at high operating speeds,” he says. The seed is separated individually in each row of seed and is introduced into the soil via the propulsion channel.

With a working width of 3m, the CombiDisc is configured with two rows of 410mm diameter notched discs, mounted in pairs on maintenance-free disc arms. Offering a working depth of 3 to 8 cm, the adjustment is made mechanically, or via an optional hydraulic cylinder controlled from the tractor cabin.

“The fast-turning discs provide very good crumb structure, with adjustable disc holders in the wheel tracks and at the ends of the machine, ensuring perfect leveling of the seedbed,” says Steve.

The CombiDisc 3000 is hitched to the tractor via Category 2 or 3 lower hitches, while the drill is hitched quickly and safely via the QuickLink quick coupler. A range of rollers are available to consolidate the seedbed in a range of soil types and operating conditions.
