A Rothschild Prize trip to France is next on the agenda for Ralph Beckett’s Falmouth heroine, Prosperous Voyage.
The Zoffany daughter was twice placed behind superstar filly Inspiral as a juvenile and kicked off her three-year campaign by finishing second to Cachet in the 1000 Guineas.
And as she finished far behind Inspiral in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, she reversed that form on the July course – inflicting a shock defeat at the charge of John and Thady Gosden.
Immediately afterwards, Beckett named a return to Newmarket for the Sun Chariot as her major goal, but with that race not taking place until October, she is first set to go in search of top honors on ground foreign.
Jamie McCalmont, blood agent and race director for co-owner Marc Chan, said: “All is well with Prosperous Voyage and we are heading to Deauville on August 2 for the Prix Rothschild.
“The Sun Chariot isn’t until the second half of October, so I don’t think we’re going to wait that long. Hopefully she’ll have at least one more run, if not two.
“She’s definitely handling the Newmarket track very well, so you can see why that (Sun Chariot) would be the long-term target.”
